Problem
Statement
The challenge was creating a collaborative, tech-driven environment that respected architectural legacy while integrating high-performance systems. Users included creative teams, collaborators, and event guests.

Process
I began with site studies to understand light, structure, and historic constraints, while engaging stakeholders on cultural and functional goals. Concept development emphasized openness, adaptability, and inspiration from Bell Labs history. Close coordination with engineers guided feasibility of key features like an interior atrium and kinetic sculpture. Iterations balanced historic sensitivity with modern performance.

Solution
The final design included a dramatic glass-ceiling atrium that brought natural light deep into the building, flexible collaboration zones, and modular event spaces. The centerpiece was a kinetic sculpture powered by 300 motors, serving as both an art installation and brand expression. Environmental graphics merged algorithmic branding with vintage advertising to connect past and future.

Results &
Impact
Delivered on time and within budget, the headquarters fostered collaboration and innovation while honoring the building’s legacy. The project set a benchmark for adaptive reuse in workplace design and reinforced the role of space in shaping culture. It highlighted the value of blending heritage with forward-looking innovation.
