AEC Startup
Overview
As part of a design sprint for an AEC startup, I created a platform concept that unifies the entire construction lifecycle in a single, role-based dashboard system. The goal was to make complex workflows, spanning preconstruction to completion, clear, usable, and accessible to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Problem
Statement
The challenge was to design a platform covering every stage of a construction project, from preconstruction to completion, for both technical and non-technical users. Existing tools overwhelm some roles with data while underserving others, leaving critical gaps in usability.

Process
I mapped core stakeholders by role and tech fluency, from clients and PMs to BIM managers, consultants, and field crews. Instead of replicating clunky AEC platforms, I drew from adjacent industries like film production (StudioBinder) to explore how “all-in-one” tools balance accessibility and complexity.

Solution
The result was a system of role-based dashboards:
Executive / PMs: budget, milestones, and schedule at a glance.
Design / BIM teams: federated model viewer, clash detection, and revision tracking.
GCs / field crews: tablet-friendly drawings, punch lists, and offline mode.
Each dashboard surfaced only the most relevant, actionable data, powered by real-time integrations with BIM tools, schedules, and reports.

Results &
Impact
Delivered as part of a rapid design sprint, the concept showed how user-centered, role-specific dashboards can reduce noise, speed decisions, and bring clarity to complex construction workflows.
